I spend a great deal of time outdoors, looking for the right emotional connection for a painting. I am fortunate to live in a place where I can immerse myself in lush forests, dry deserts, alpine lakes, or mountain meadows.
My paintings are not a literal interpretation. I try to paint what I feel about what I see...
I began my art career at outdoor art festivals. I traveled all over the country to sell my work. I also did some design work, everything from coffee mugs to t-shirts. Eventually, my love of being outdoors and hiking, camping, and biking became the primary influence for my paintings.
I have worked in many mediums, but have settled on oils as my preferred medium.
